Jacqueline Beckmann has been appointed as the new principal of Islip’s Commack Road Elementary School, effective Feb. 12. She takes over from interim principal David Seinfeld.

Beckmann comes to Islip from the Lawrence School District, where she served as principal of Lawrence Elementary School for the past two years, and as an assistant principal since 2016. She previously worked for the New York City Department of Education as a fourth grade and first grade teacher at PS 60.
Beckmann, who resides in Massapequa, earned her bachelor’s degree in education from St. John’s University, a master’s degree in education from Long Island University and an advanced certificate in educational leadership from Stony Brook University.

“CRES is a safe and inclusive space where everyone feels welcome and supported,” Beckmann said. “I plan to build strong relationships with students, teachers and families, creating a powerful network of support that helps every child thrive.”
