Industrious Islip High School students in technology teacher Jesse Eilbeck’s wood products design classes recently created wind spinner helixes, a popular backyard decoration. During the project, the sophomores, juniors and seniors learned several important technology processes, including paper templates in the designing of the helix shapes, drilling and cutting wood and metal, and sanding the final products.
